This course, held over two consecutive weekends, allows those who are busy with school or work during the week to complete a full learning program. Depending on the participant’s level, the course may be introductory or advanced.

Learning the basics and techniques needed to sail safely, understanding the rules of proper navigation: safety, rules, seamanship
Development of basic sailing knowledge
For advanced courses: improving boat handling and sailing technique on dinghies
CONTENT
Environmental awareness: lake conditions, orientation, wind indicators, safety rules, meteorological tools, compass rose, compass
The boat: hull, terminology and safety, sail, windward and leeward, points of sail, tacking and gybing, knots
First steps in sailing with rules and short practice races
For advanced courses: sailing techniques in stronger winds, racing techniques, physical preparation, and independent navigation
